Flex additive.

Hi Vince,

Excuse me for not including all the info about the paint job before hand.

Being retired and on a limited budget, I wanted to use a cheap
paint, $24.95 a gallon, at Walmart for my 16 year old truck. I've painted many vehicles in the past, using the standard siphon gun & pressure feed system, etc. For this job, I'm using a "cheap" turbine HVLP system and Rust-Oleum paint, reduced with about 5%Acetone, which is what they recommend. What type of flex addative would you suggest? The color is solid red with no metallic. I didn't intend to use a hardner in the first place, but that's what the paint store recommended as a flexitive.
If you have any suggestions for using the HVLP system, I'd appreciate it a great deal.
Thanks, Geo

Beautiful work! I would love to do the body work on my Ranger, but I'm afraid to touch it.

Well boys and girls, it's about time for me to ^%$# or get off the pot. Got everything in the paint booth this morning. Had some spot primering to do and a little more wetsanding. All that is left is mask everything off, wipe it all down several times with DX330 the hit it with the color. Could happen as early as next weekend. At any rate it WILL happen this month because the unit I work in has a scheduled shutdown starting the first week in October and I will be on 12's. So there will be very little work done on the 34 in October.

This shot is of a club members 40ish Chevy truck that is going through extensive fabrication. A highly modified S10 bed, A chopped 59 Chevy dashboard and various other unique changes.

Vince,
That is just one H--- of a job your doing.

It will be a show winner for sure.

You might consider sending this Linc to some magazine editors along with some of the as you go pictures as these guys work on about 4-6 months in advance.

I can fully appreciate the amount of work you are doing, having done it myself several times. Reassembly after paint always scares the crap out of me . The front ends on those 33/34's never want go back together the same way twice. I'm sure you will pull it off just fine. I know you don't need to hear a compliment from a dipstick like me, but that is a killer job you're doing.

later, mikey

Me too Bob, my wife is on me real heavy to get it together. After almost three years she sees everything painted and thinks it will be finished next week .
