35 windshield install help needed

Got all new glass for my 35 ford tudor. Everything went well until I got to the windshield. I got bedding tape from mac's, and cleaned frame thoroughly and painted it. I've got the two halves within 1/2 inch of being together and I cant get them any further. I'm afraid I'm gonna break the glass. Does anyone have any tips/ suggestions?

That is a one piece windshield, I believe. Google images, I don't see any 2 piece Ford Tudor windshields.

I remember replacing the vent window glass on Ford trucks. We would get about 3 feet of bedding tape and wrap the edge of the vent window, slid it into the vent window frame and smack it with a rubber mallet until it seated. It always made me a little nervous, but I never broke one.

I can't find a picture of a 2 piece windshield, stock or modified
http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&s...&aqi=&aql=&oq=

Just got out my bible on the 35-36 Fords, windshields are the same for both years, with the exception of the cabriolet and the sedan convertible, they were fixed windshields and had different trim. ONE piece. 37 appears to be 2 piece. My 36 is a one piece.

My books show a one piece! I never thought of that last night, and I once owned a 35!

I took this original frame and glass out of my 35 ford tudor - It is 2 piece with trim clips over the joint. I dont have any pics handy, but if you check a post by Brigrat on12/4/2010 titled "1935 1936 ford coupe sedan front windshield frame" he has a good pic attached.

Maybe I should have wrote what I was thinking, must have had some brain fade.
From the Model A to 36 was all flat glass, Then in 37 they went to 2 piece glass until 1952.

Dinger is right hands down.
