350 to 305 engine swap

I have a 350 in my chevy k10 pick up. I am swaping that out to a 305 while I am rebuilding the 350. They are both 4 bolt mains. Should there be any problems, or should these motors both swap evenly. Is there anything special that I need to do when I do this?

Also, I have a holly 4bbl 650 cfm double pumper with a single feed fuel line on my 350 right now, will this be ok on the 305? Is there anything special that i should do if I'm using this carb on the 305 motor? Should I port & polish the heads or something? Will everything be fine for now?

Thanks once again.

Steve

Not that it matters, but to the best of my knowledge, there were no 4-bolt 305's ever made. The 305 will work fine and I wouldn't worry about all-out performance, I'd focus my time and efforts on matching parts for the 350 buildup!!

for a standard 305 you only need something like 500cfm's it doesnt really matter if you have more carb as long as its setup right.
the qjet that came on that motor was a 750.

I'm with bk, there is alot of room to work between what size carb will work and what is optimum! This 650 spread-bore d.p. is more that the 305 will need but should still provide decent drive-ability! Besides, he already has it and I presume it is functioning properly!
