350 "82 buick Electra/park ave.
Hello everyone! I just purchased an 82 electra, and was wondering what the best motor to put in it would be! I'm new to the GM/v8 scene, so any info is GREATLY appreciated! The car has the GM 307ci engine. The car has NO power at all... you can punch the gas and it literally does not move any faster! i think top speed was like 55 last i drove it, and that was going down a hill
. I have access to MANY 350's but i don't know if there's a certain year that's better..or what fits on my transmission. It has the TH200C transmission. Thanks guys!-Josh |

What other transmission would be good to mate to a 350 Olds?
Does anyone know how much hp the 1982 307 is rated for? my friend has a turbo 350 transmission or something he said he'd sell for 100$...is that good? Thanks again! |

If you happen to stumble across an Olds 403 engine (used from '77 to '79, or thereabouts), it also has the same external dimensions as the Olds 307 & 350, and will break the trans even quicker.
Check the yards out for similar GM cars with T-200-4R overdrive trannys or possibly a T-350. Note that some have a straight-across tranny crossmember, & some have an angled one, but I haven't figured out what the deal is on that yet. |

I happened to have a complete 68 Buick 430ci engine and a 400 Transmission that will no doubt work just fine in your 82 Buick. It was running just fine when removed.
