350 bored 15 over

i am looking into buyin a sbc from a guy for pretty cheap...he says it is a 350 that was punched 15 over (i'm guessing 0.015...i can't do math today) i know that the standard bore on a 350 is 4.00in. what size bore would the 0.015 overbore give me?

Uh... 4.015"

I've never seen an off-the-shelf piston at .015" over.

I'd be leery of buying that engine without having someone knowledgable look it over.

I'm showing my age, back in the 1960, there were pistons for some 427 Fords that were 015, 020 and some other odd sizes, but in that time frame you had 283's 327's and in 1967 the 350. It does seem odd for that size and cubic inch. Now everything is .030 .040 .060

Yup, I'll bet you knew Moses!

:D

There were a lot of oddball sized the factory and dealereships used to correct "problems".

I recently worked on a 455 Olds that had one .010" piston in it from the factory. Caused some head scratching...........

I think some checking on the OPs 350 may reveal something not told to him.
