350 buick in chevy truck?

I have a 79 Chevy Pickup with a 350. I have the oringinal motor that I am rebuilding, but would like to know if a 350 from a 72 Buick would bolt in and match my tranny. I have a TH350.

If it wouldn't, would the heads off of that buick fit on my chevy 350.

The casting numbers are below if that will help any:

Chevy: 14016379
Buick: 1231447

Thanks.
Steve

Buick will not bolt to chevy trans without adapter. No Buick motor parts will fit a Chevy motor

About all that is interchangable is the radiator cap and the oil.

Where would I be able to get an adapter to do that....and would it be cost effective for a temp fix?

You can get an adapter from Speedway Motors, but it would not be cost effective if you consider all the fabricating of mounts, linkages, exhaust, etc. Everything has to be hand made.

JRM...

Really, its not worth all the effort. Nothing will fit, and we mean nothing! The blocks are totally different, the mounts are different, all the accessories are located differently. By the time you get it going, you could have bought a wheezer Chevy 350 for less money to rebuild or install while you are building your new motor.
