I'm building my first chevy 350 motor and I'm just looking for some guidance.
I'm using:
Stock crank and rods
.030 over pistons from summit
A .488/.488 comp cam
Aluminum promaxx heads, 64cc chambers 2.02 valves with 1.6 ratio arms
A edelbrock air gap ramp intake
This what I plan on doing, just looking for a strong reliable street motor to have fun with
Give me some feedback
If the specs are correct on your cam, then thats huge....
As long as the heads can flow, and you dont mind idling at 1100 or so, then you should be fine.
I just went the same issue with my build. I put in a cam that was way too big for my application, didnt run right etc...
what type of cam do you want to use? with a 750 double pumper
what do your heads have for air flow numbers?
You need to know your exact compression ratio to pick a good cam(roller cam is the best)
If thats the cam you have then use it.Get a nice set of 1 5/8 long tube headers, and 3 inch exhaust system. 750 Holley on the RPM intake, should be a fun and perky ride
PART NUMBERS!!!! We need part numbers to give you intelligent input. What is it that makes you fellows who are looking for help, keep all the relevant information a secret????????????????????????????????????????????
I agree with tech inspector. What is the gear ratio and transmission you are using? What type of pistons are you using? Flat tops? Dome? Welcome to the site, you will get good help here and thank you for asking before you buy parts. Too many buy a huge cam and then ask why it performs poorly, or just mismatch the entire engine combo.
Nick, if you can supply the part numbers and specifications of your parts, I can help. If you cannot supply that info, have a nice life......I refuse to look up part numbers for you.
