Post 350 carb help

i have a edelbrock four barrel on my 350. when i hit the gas hard, it usually backfires through the carb(flames) today when i hit the gas hard it just squirted gas about six inches in the air. anybody have any idea what the prob might be?

HI L/SPEED,NO more flames ay! sounds like your coils packed in! Question why do you want flames anyhow????? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

well there some linkage on the side of the carb thats just kind of hanging there not connected, but im pretty sure thats the choke. anyways how do you get the coil unpacked or unstuck?

well you said the problem was that my coil was packed in, well how do i fix it?

THAT WAS A JOLE THEN? YOU DON"T USUALLY RUN AROUND WITH FLAMES SHOOTIN OUT YOUR CARB!
ON YOUR DIZZY CAP YOU"LL FIND 4 SCREWS,,PUSH DOWN +TURN 1/2 way,OH yeah you"D better mark your leads first,As you look at the engine from the front,put numbered masking tape 1,3,5,7. on your leads 1 nearest to you then 3 and so on,ON your left side 2,4,6,8.
now undo the dizzy screws +remove your dizzy cap +leads.O.K. so far
