350 Chevy Rebuild question?

I was reading a post here and it reminded me of a thought i had when i installed my Melling timing chain and gears yesterday while rebuilding my 1st. 350, the timing chain had a blue looking link on one side, other side was black like the rest of the links i installed it blue link twords engine.Did i mess up?Please tell me!I already have my oil pan and timing chain covers on,it did not have any instructions inside box so i figured it did not matter.

Side up doesn't make any difference, the markings are used in production of the part.

I think none of these apply to you.

Keep your inane posts and comments to your self.

Not trying to tell anyone else what to do but, please don't banter around with A-P !! He makes these idiot statements just so the thread dribbles along about him instead of the intended question!
Shockers69---it was an honest question by you and it showed that you are paying close attention to assembly! Keep up the good work and ask lots of questions when you get stumped!

You guys should just ignore the posts that offend, please let the mods edit the posts that are blatantly offensive. You are only fueling the fire by responding.

Is the edited version more to your liking?

Don't get sucked in please.

if BOBCRMAN said it was ok, believe it.

4Jaw, your doing an excellent job, glad your back.
don't let it become a job though.....
look at it as "creative expressionism of your feminine side"
