Post 350 Chevy w/350 T/H into '51 Merc

Need help on how to mount the 350 cid Chevy into my '51 Fordor Merc. Have Hurst mount that looks like a "V" with horizontal legs on top, and new "stock" motor mounts. Don't know what I'd have to do to support the tranny....is there something I can buy that would attach to the "old" support?? Not positive, but I think the engine will fit without mods to the steering gear?? Appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks

To make it a good Hot Rod!!!!! Good Hot Rod!!!!
You just gotta get down and take some measurements to see what needs to happen, to bring it all together. Anything is "doable".You may even locate someone on here that has done this same install before!!!

I believe all the 350 had side engine mounts, So I assume the Hurst mount you described is a cross member set up to receive the motor mounts. Now if it is the early style mount that bolted to front of the motor, you will have to get a transmission housing that has a front mount, vice tail shaft. What tranny were you planning on. My Bud has a 350 in a 52 Merc so I can get with him for some ideals.
