They sell fuel pressure regulators at most parts stores, including the Edelbrock brand I think. Edelbrock documentation emphasizes the possibility of carburetor problems if you don't keep the pressure within recommended limits. A vacuum/fuel pressure gauge is very cheap, so you might want to check the pressure before you replace any parts.

With a stock mechanical pump you usually don't need a regulator because it will run at about 5 psi, but a regulator is used very frequently with electric pumps that put out more pressure.
