I have a 1979 with a 250 2bbl on it. I burned the bearings in it. So now I want to put something better in it. I been wondering which one is better carb or fuel inj. I am on a tight budget. The ole lady won't let me go all out on an ole truck. So I am trying to figure out which on will be better for me. I am leaning towards the carb setup, but hear so many things about the fuel inj system. I know if I go to the junk yard to get a motor they are going to charge me around $300 to $400. That is in Va. I want to try to find one a bit cheaper than that. I really want a 4 bolt main, but I know I probably can't afford it. I know I sound like a dummy, believe me I feel like one.

if you want cheap, Fuel Injection is out. for a stock application you don`t need a 4 bolt main block, there not needed if you don`t plan to run over 500 horsepower, other than that there of no benefit, there`s nothing special about`em.
