What are the casting numbers of the heads you got now?
Do you want a stock low compression ratio for a stock near stock rebuild or
do you want more than stock compression for a performance build with a hi perf
cam etc. The torquer II intake works best with generous compression, gears, converter, cam and more than stock cylinder head flow. other wise its a poor choice, say on a near stock motor. A dual plane is much better choice for this.

Most all the stock heads that are cheap, have modest port flow in stock form.
Are you willing to improve them by hand porting them for more than stock power if that is your goal?
Or do you want some miracle to fall out of the sky?
There is a big difference between a cheap gem and cheap useless junk.

vortec heads that are not cracked are a great choice.
906 or 062 castings only. requires a vortec style intake manifold

Anything with a small 58 to 64cc combustion chamber like a 305HO head (4416 or 601 casting {some are marked 624}) or a old 327 fuelie head has performance potential
especially with home brewed porting to improve flow.
