i have a 350 with the casting number. 3970010 and was wondering how much hp the had.. it came out of a impla like a 73-75 i have done the heads are procomp, intake runner is 190cc and comb chamber is 64cc intake valve 2.02" and exhaust valve. 1.60" . the intake is a edelbrock performe intake off idle to 5500 rpm the cam is a edelb... rock performer rpm cam int/exh 234°/244° and the lift. 488"/.510" the pstons are speed pro with four eye brows, .125" dome... i was wondering if anyone would have idea how much hp and torque. i might end up with

If your engine is in top tune with no restrictions, I would guess somewhere at 390 hp and 338 lbs. of torque. One restriction is the intake. Off idle to 5500 and the camshaft rpm range is 1500-6500. The engine dies at 5500 rpm instead of making power til 6500. Get the performer RPM intake 1500-6500 RPMs

cdminter? curious as to why you estimate the horse power higher than the torque then claim the engine wont rev past 5500 rpm. How is that estimate even possible mathematically? do you know the rule of 5252?

so the other intake would make more hp? i was thinking bout getting it. so ima be making more than 350 hp?

I just used Comp Cams CamQuest. After you enter the info, bore stroke, camshaft, intake, carb, head type, exhaust type you can click on dyno. It gives you an estimated hp and torque at given rpm. Besides I didn't mean it would rev past 5500 but the power starts leveling off looking at the graph shown on this dyno.

When I was on Comp Cams website using CamQuest. I entered all the info you said you had. You can change info such as hp heads stock port and valves to hp heads pocket porting and stock valves. You might see 30-40 hp increase. Dual plane intake to single plane intake might see 20 hp increase. AS always you have to decide if spending the money for the increase as little as it is is worth it. Most say if street driven mostly use dual plane intakes and if strip car use single plane intake. I have always used single plane intakes and double pumper Holley's even on the street for the most hp. I have the torque converter and gears needed.
