350 intake

I had to swap my intake on my 350 which I think is a 72or 73 motor I can't no the year bc the vin is gone I don't no if someone back in the day grinder it off or what. But I need to swap it out bc I need my alt on my passager side of the motor but my 79 intake is not lineing up right the bolt hole are off would or should the 79 intake fit up ?

I think what fatboy is trying to say are the heads, not intake, are causing the problem. I say this based on the fact that right around 1972 Chevy still used the brackets to support the accessories (and alternator was on driver's side) for TRUCKS.

Cars started using new cylinder heads that had bosses and holes for mounting accessories to the head, at which point the alternator migrated to the passenger side.

So why do you NEED the alternator on the passenger side again?

I can't find a brackets to fit my long water pump so the bets line up an yes it's for a truck

Post a pic of your heads or post a casting number. But based on what you are saying this aint gonna work unless you get the newer cyl heads.

I no about that I have that mount but it don't work with the intake thats on the motor bc the top mount bolt is not there on the older intakes

And I can't up load any pics bc there to big it keeps telling me the pic are to big I don't no why there are bc I just used my cell to take them
