Post 350 missing

I have 69 camaro SS, with 350 in it. I recently purcahsed it and rebuilt the holly carb twice and still continued to have missing problem. I have checked the timing, dwell, new plugs, wires, ect.
I finally decided to buy new carb 600 edelbrock. I installed it on a Holley contender intake that was already on the engine. I still have a miss when running a constant RPM either highway or street. What have I missed?

That's a pretty big engine to be missing. Did you look under the bed?

Good one. Wish I could find the problem under there. Engine idles & accelerates good, just can't track down what the cause of the miss is at higher RPMS and load.

I had a similar problem one time and I put a MSD box on my car and it solved the problem. Is your coil a new one, or is it stock? May be that. HG

564: I had a missing problem on a 350 under load and it was the fuel filter. I didn't think of that because I had just put a new one in weeks before, but it clogged that quick. I ended up having to clean out tank and entire system,. But that exactly how it acted, only missed under load. Hope you find problem Dave E Shank davesr@trianglesalesusa.com

Thanks for the fuel filter idea. I did put a new filter on at time I replaced carb. Didn't miss at first after carb replace. I will drop the tank and clean it out. Thanks.

Im thinking that you have to send the box back to the company, but it probably wouldnt even start if that was it. Do you have an xtra coil or a friends you could try? HG

You might need differant heat range plugs.Try going down a range.
I know I changed from 45s to 44s and it ran ollot smoother. Can't rememer if it was missing but I know it made a performance differance.

You mentioned that you check the dwell. Did you replace the points, then set the dwell, then set the timing. If you just set the dwell, there is a chance the points are pitted which could cause the problem. When you changed the plugs did you notice anything unusual about the old spark plugs when you took them out? Have you done a compression check on the car?
