Start with all tune up parts first, check and set timing, replace plugs fuel filter etc etc,
For mods?
Start with the gear and work your way forward. Bang for the buck will be gears tho.

ok thank you i have new plugs and timing is good it sounds really healthy but i was thinking about cruising the junkyards and finding a 750 cfm carb it has an edelbrock 600cfm on it but i will look into the gears i think the motor is a 70s smog motor

RWENUTS 09-02-2013 09:11 PM

A 750 carb won't help.
Timings good eh!
What's it set at?

vinniekq2 09-02-2013 09:14 PM

headers are always the first place to start.Let it breathe,,,,,
get an idea of what you want as an end result?

eldudderino 09-02-2013 09:16 PM

the bigger carb wont help? and we just set it today and it was something like 8 degrees advanced

well basically what i want it to be is something to piss off all the kids running around in my town haha and right now it cant dish it out really....its slow

RWENUTS 09-02-2013 09:24 PM

THe 750 will help at 5 grand but your motor will run out of breath by then.
600 is just about right.
Bump your timing up to 14-16 and get some headers like Vinnie said.

ok and you think headers will be better to get then rear end gears? the thing doesnt even spin its tires at a dead stop, its hell trying to do a burn out

vinniekq2 09-02-2013 09:38 PM

Headers do not do burn outs,,,lol.
Why not list everything you actually have and we can talk about what costs you might incur

im just saying the thing has no power lol at all but should i get headers or gears if i get headers should i get longtubes or shorty headers

vinniekq2 09-02-2013 09:44 PM

long tube headers,,,
you need to know what parts are in the engine to determine header pipe size,,,
