I'm having a problem with oil pressure...I know its normal for oil pressure to drop some when the motor heats up through out the day the oil just keeps dropping till it hits the half mark but when you put it in park and neutral it goes back up...Any ideas and thank you in advance

dont trust the guage,get a quality guage in the car
If the car is older,use a heavier oil.
what are the exact oil pressure numbers at idle in gear hot/cold?

when I crank it in the morning almost 80 and after a good 45 minutes about 65 then after that if i drive it off and on all day just slightly under the half way mark

but if i let it idle in traffic thats what it reads but if i park it and let it idle its about 65ish

It sure sounds like it is funtioning as it should.Better oil with higher viscosity will have a little more pressure at idle. You may also find as the oil gets older it will show a lower pressure. Change your oil,use a good filter.

maybe thats it it started doing this after a month and a half (just a rough guess) after i dropped in the new motor in my truck
