350 question

I have a 1990 350 engine. When looking for new manifolds for it, it list them up to 1986 and then 1996 and later with Vortec heads. I don't have Vortec heads on this engine. What is the difference between the 86 and 90 block and will the manifold for a 86 fit on it?

are you looking for a carbed intake or is this a TBI intake out of a truck or something?

TheAngle of the 4 center intake retaining Bolts was Changed during that time,.....

It'll take abit of Grinding or Machining to make an Earlier manifold Fit,+ the Later manifolds will Not fit.....

The engine is out of a Chevy truck and yes it had a TBI that I now want to change over to a carb. The problem I'm having is the intake manifolds all say either 96 and earlier with Vortec heads or 86 and earlier. I don't have the Vortec heads so I'm not sure what manifold to get.

Logically it seems to me that since you don't have Vortec heads, then any standard early type manifold will fit the early type heads.

You need Edelbrocks carb intake manifold part# 2104 to fit the '90 model TBI truck heads with no modifications.

The odd years were the TBI (and a few others) from 87-95. They are the same as old-style except the center bolts are straight up and down, so a standard old-style like a 2101 won't fit without grinding out those holes and modifying things a bit.

Edelbrock makes a couple intakes for those oddball heads but the selection limits you to a performer or a performance TBI type intake. No RPM or air gaps as far as I know.
