I KNOW AS KIDS WE ARE TOLD THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION. WELL IM ALL GROWN UP NOW AND I HAVE A STUPID QUESTION.

WHAT DO I LOOK FOR TO TELL IF I HAVE A SB OR BB.
ALSO IM GOING BY WORD OF MOUTH FROM THE GUY I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM. HOW DO I TELL IF INFACT I DO HAVE A 350? COULD IT BE A 305? OR WHAT?

I KNOW I KNOW, IT WAS MORE THEN ONE QUESTION. BUT I MIGHT AS WELL GET IT OUT.

Post re: 350 SB OR BB

I believe anything with 400 cubic inches(chevy) or less is a small block, i could be wrong, i have a magazine that labels a 402 as BB and a 400 as a SB, David

Post re: 350 SB OR BB

You know, thinking back on it all, I could swear that I either heard or read somewhere something about a 350 BB. No lie. I remembered thinking, "WHAT???? I don't think so!". But that was it. I never further investigated. I still don't believe it though. Who knows, maybe someone can prove me wrong.....

Post re: 350 SB OR BB

check the engine codes. what year car? they quit putting big blocks in cars along time ago. can only get one in a truck as far as i know. i have a 326 pontiac that i consider a big block as it's the same physical size as a 455. if its a pre 87 or so 350 it has four valve cover bolts with tops and bottoms directly across from each other, the new ones have 4 ( i think) bolts across the top in the center of the valve cover. all i've ever had were the older ones so i'm not sure on the newer, but, if it's neither one of these it must be a big block. you don't give much info to make a call here for my limited intelligence in the area, look on google/images and type in 350 chev then 454 chev and see what matches what you got.
