what would be the stock hp ratings on a 72-73 350.

350 Power ratings

To answer your question, rather low. In '72, flat cams and large chamber heads knowcked down compression significantly. Also with HP rating being taken at the rear wheels instead of the flywheel, the numbers were rather unimpressive. You could expect a brand new 350 in a Camaro in those years to only develop around 230hp or less.

A stock 350 as installed in a '72 Nova with factory dual exhaust was rated at 200hp net at the flywheel, with all accessories installed. The same engine in '71 was rated 270hp gross, with open exhaust and no accessories. This is basically the same engine as the current standard Goodwrench crate motor, with large-chambered heads and dog-dish pistons.
