350 sbc rebuild

My brother and i are doing a frame off restore of his '71 Monte Carlo. We are about to send his engine in to have all new seals and new pistons. We will be using the stock heads, looking at a edelbrock performer intake, headers and dual exhaust. Would like to get a Demon carb, but more likely a Holley of some kind seeing as they are easier to find.

I am mechanically enclined and have done enough motor swaps and messing around but don't know too much about selecting pistons or camshaft. I would like a little rumble, not a crazy chopping idling cam. I have been looking around at Keith Black Pistons at summitracing.com

Any info on selecting pistons and a camshaft would be great. We would like to get 350 horses.

Id go with something something on the pistons to get you around 9.5 to 10.1 compression ratio.
As far as the cam goes, u need to figure out the rpm range you want. Something like a 480 lift and 280 duration will get ya close. I used one on my Chevelle years ago and I liked it.
I was built with the body of a God! To bad it was buddah.
