350 SBC w/Holley, won't idle

Hey guys,
Need more help. I have a SBC 350 and am using a Holley 650 double pumper with a shaved choke horn. I'm having a really hard time getting it to idle. It runs very well when it's up a few RPM's but doesn't like to come down and idle. I'm running a victor jr. intake, Brodix IK200 aluminum heads, comp 298H cam and a turbo 350 tranny with a B&M 3000-3200 stall.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Whats "up a few rpms"...where does it idle comfortably? Also, with that parts combo ( BIG cam) and no choke it probably won't want to idle below 800 or so.

Where is your timing set?

Is the carb dripping fuel from the venturi at idle?(Float leven too high.)

Whats your vacuum at idle? What size power valves are in the carb?

Okay...here's what I can answer.

- Timing is set at 36*BTDC with a 4.5 power valve

- I have disabled the mechanical advance on the distributor

- Don't see that I am getting any drips out of the venturi's

- I will try the blade gapping (how do you measure to
.020-.030?)

- What concerns me is that I put my friends Street Demon (750, manual secs) on and it seemed to run better. I would prefer to run the Holley. Should I be running a carb with a choke?

Thanks for all the info, really appreciate it.
