350 Shifting Question

I hope this engine forum is the correct place to ask this question. My 23 T-Bucket has a 355 sbc, turbo 350 with B&M strip/street gate installed. I do have a stall converter but not sure if it's 2500, more or less. Under WOT, it upshifts at about 3200-3500, way to low. I want upsifts at 4000-4500. Is upshifting at 3200 normal or how can I get it to shift up at 4K?

Rear end is a 10 bolt 3:73 and of course I can shift manually but thanks, that is not my question. Of course I can shift at 6k manually but I'm asking about letting the 350 shift automatically.

350 shifting questions

i have not much exsperence with transmissions but down in or on the modulator is a screw that you turn to adjust the shifting rpms. check in a cylmer's manual for your model with a th350 and it will tell you how to adjust it. i think you might have to change to an aftermarket modulator like B&M or hughes to turn it up to a higher rpm than what you got. good luck!!

The modulator controls shifts at part throttle. The governor you may need to modify.

BTW this is a transmission forum question. You'll get help on the governor there.

You can get a shift kit from B&M and others that will control how the trans shifts. If it is set up right, it should shift at full throttle around 5500. That is what most Cameros would shift at new. Maybe you should take it to some performance trans shop here in Dallas. They can fix it.
