350 or sj 327
We have all fought about this before, I already have a large journal 327 in my 69 pickem-up, and I am wanting to make a small journal 327 to go in my 80 malibu wagon. I have the 350 block, Im going to bore it .30 over. I have a edelbrock perfomer intake maifold for vortec heads, even the head to go with it. some people say i should build a H.O 350 and it would be easier, and some say a small journal 327 would be best. what do you guys and girls think?

I don't understand why you want a small journal 327. It was out of production by 1968, I think, and the reason GM went to the larger journal was because of the failure history (thats why they also used the steel crank 327 for awhile). Ah! I'll bet you have a small journal steel crank and want to build an engine around it! Is that it?

I looked into this at one point; the spacer bearings you'll need are not cheap.
