350 Timing
Hi Chevy Owners,
Could you give me some advice on timing for my 68 C10 350 w/modified cam chevy with t400 trans. I have looked at a lot of different timing charts for this engine but I'm not sure where to set the timing. I see the factory spec is 4 deg but a friend of mine say's 8 deg and another friend said it should be 12 which is correct for best performance and gas mileage??? The MOTOR'S Manual calls for 4 degrees. 8-12 will probably work but is overkill. The more advance you put in, the harder to turn over, although a small performance gain might be realized. The more advance also means you must run better fuel. Unless you need to bump it up due to performance mods, keep it where it is supposed to be.

Agree with the above, but set the total advance to be 32 degrees.
