350 turbo shift kit

installing shift kit would like to know if street/strip is to agressive for my 72 chevy pickup. it has 355 engine stock rear end 308 gear. B&M recomended towing version instead of street strip but id like to get as much punch possible without loosing drivability in the rain or snow if i had to drive it.

Cool

when you say "shift kit" you are talking about TransGo kits. TransGo has a trade mark on the term "shift kit"

B&M sells shift improver kits. I would suggest you follow B&M's guidelines for their products

You want the HD/towing option. I should have gone that way on my s10...I learned my lesson when I did the th350 in my K5.

I loose traction on freeway on ramps when it shifts into 2nd at 40mph, my right rear tire wears faster then all the rest because it chirps often, I have lost tailshaft bolts, trans mount bolts, and even some bolts that hold in my dash. Call me a wuss if you want but I don't like it.

I went to a good trans. shop and they made a shift kit of my 350 trans. Most good trans shops should be able to do the same. For me at least the shift kit works great. The 1st to 2nd gear is very strong and you get a much better sift. I don't know how it would work on a truck under a pulling load but on a car off the line it works very very well...

I went with the heavy duty version shift imporver and it made loads of difference in my truck. For as big as it is it really has some kick now. when i really get on the 355 motor it makes some sweet shifts. It only took about half a day for me and my buddy to put it in and we were both inexperienced at trans work. but now im feeling much more confident about trans and i think ill be learning more so that if it goes out i can rebuild it myself.
