Post 350, valve lash adjustment

I'am a little rusty on the procedure, warm the engine, pull the valve cover, run the engine, backoff one rocker at a time till it chatters, tighten till chatter stops, turn a quarter turn, wait, turn another quarter turn, go to the next rocker arm. it's messy! oil splatter! Is this the best way to do this? if it is the mess can be cleaned. Ken k1k2.il@netzero.net

Get some oil deflectors they clamp on the rockers and keep the oil from spraying everywhere and also I do the quarter turn three times most manuals say 4 times oil deflectors are inexpensive and keep the risk of fire to a minimum
