350chev in a 1987 ford ranger

i just put a 350 chevy in a 1987 ford ranger and i think i have carb troubles when i floor it from a dead stop it spits and sputers but when your goin 40kmh and floor it,it has lots of power i was just wondering what kind of carb i should buy???WHATS GOOD AND WHATS JUNK??
