i have heard that 351W heads will bolt on a 302. my question is do you have to make any modifacations to the heads, to get them to work, and how much (estimate) power it would give you, right now im running stock 302 heads and running 8.28 at 83mph 1/8. the motor is out of a 69' cougar if that helps.

Unless they are 1969 or early 70's heads you won't gain anything. Actually most late heads probably flow almost as good and all aftermarket heads far surpass them. All that said ,yes they fit, depending the year heads a few things to keep in mind that 351 uses 1/2" instead of 7/16" head bolts, so hardened washers or head bolts with intregal washers are needed. Push rod lengths should be checked as well.
