First, welcome to Hotrodders.
Step by step can get way to keyboard intensive.. :D
Do you have a reputable machine shop locally? If so, they are the one's you need to see.
If you have a gearhead friend or two, that would help. Do some research. Buy a book or two. Invest in some tools.
Best of luck.
Get tom monroes book, " How to rebuild your small block Ford." Takes you through the process step by step. From removing the engine to teardown, machine work, assenbly etc. Excellent book. I have my copy for over 20 years now and still use it all the time (it shows too. Might be time for a new copy).
That book and an actual Ford shop manual for your truck will be all you will need. Oh, and of course some common sense.
You can start right here at hotrodders,
click on the link for the crankshaft coalition engine rebuild. a
very good & informative read.
