351C randomly shutting off....

ok so i dont know whats goin on now. I was on my way to work this morning and i was taking a turn and the motor just turns off. I try to get it started again but it didnt start for like 5 minutes. I made sure fuel was getting to where it was supposed to be and i checked to see if my coil was firing. Check. Could this be the distributor? or possibly a bad ignition switch? i have no clue. anyone with anything to say will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

engine stops running

IF you have another coil you can put on your engine, try it. Sounds like your coil is getting hot and loses its ability to create juice.

it could also be the ignition module getting hot and causing the problems. because it will cause the same symtoms as your describing.

To eliminate the PERTRONIX module, install the points and coil and see how she runs.

What year and carburetor?

I had a similar problem in my 70 Torino. It ended up being the distributer bushings were wore out. I changed it out and never had another problem.
