what's your compression ratio?

Hope that 700R4 has had some work done to it.

I'd go with a 3.73 or deeper since you have overdrive.

I probably would have went with the 180cc AFR's but I'm sure you won't give up too much at lower lifts with the 195's either. IF you have 10-10.5:1 compression, I would personally step up the cam to better match the heads.

2800 stall

425hp

I don't like air gaps intakes. makes for a poor driver in cool climates. takes 20 minutes of drive time to heat the carb up enough to prevent stumble when temps drop below 60.

that cam could use more gear. a 3.73 would be better.

A 270H works well with a 3.55 and 2400 stall.

the cam needs to match the gears and compression and stall more than anything else. plus the cam needs to match your driving needs, for example street/strip versus just a race cam versus a good mpg cam.

I think the 280H is a good cam for a street/strip car with most of the driving on the street. Plus it matches the head since it has the same duration on the exhaust as the intake (afr's don't need dual pattern cams). I like the 280H for you set up. Maybe even a smaller cam like the 270H with the 3.55 gears for even better street manors and better mpg.

go for a bigger cam if you plan to add 4.11 gears, 3000 stall, and want a lopey idle car geared for the 1/4 mile. But this makes a poor daily driver with bad mpg.

don't worry about 195cc intake ports being too big. I had good results using dart 200cc heads with 9.4:1 cr and a very mild compcam 260H. Felt no low speed torque difference compared to stock 160cc double humps even with 2.87 gears and stock converter.
