don't use the 305 heads. they will just bump up the compression and they won't breath very well. if you want a decent priced performance head look into the rhs vortec's . and bump the cr up with the right pistons.( flat tops, or domed. )

Another thing to be aware of is the pistons that come with the kit are usually destroked pistons, meaning they have .020 off the compression height, while the factory height is 1.560 on a 350, the destroked piston is 1.540. This kills quench, compression and power because it lowers the ratio, and the bigger the overbore, the worse the problem. You will need gears most importantly of all to make that big car quick with any engine. It likely came from the factory with 2.73:1 gears, it`ll need some 3.73`s to have decent street manners. Without gears it`ll still be a slug.

my friend has a 10 bolt rear end with 4.11's in it that i'll prolly end up gettin. but i dont wanna put to low of gears in it cus its my every day car and i do quite a bit of highway driving. I was thinkin 3.73's would be ok or maybe 3.08's. i dunno tho maybe if i get enough power out of it i wont have to worry about gears. i wanna try and make around 400 horse. but i dont wanna use dome top pistons because i wont be able to run race fuel all the time.
