358?

small block chev 358 cube
3.905 bore 3.750 stroke, does anyone have any experience with this combo?
or is this a mythical mistake?
i'm curious if it would work and if it would out torque a 355.
thanks in advance

If you want to build a 358, don't use odd bore sizes, there is no need unless you are building a Nascar engine. Using odd sizes require special pistons, rings, etc. that is not worth the extra cost. Race engines are special breeds especially when you're running for $$$$, then every ci and tweak counts to get the advantage. For a street motor and less money, go with a good known combo.

thats not a mystery motor, its a long stroke LS motor, standard stroke is 3.622. A longer stroke has an advantage for making power at a lower RPM.The arm in longer for leverage, not very much longer. You can go as long as 4.1 stroke in some LS blocks
