36 chevy stock axle rework info needed

Have 36 chevy standard with stock I beam front end. Would like to put some 49-54 repo spindles (from Speedway Motors) that accept disc brakes. What is the better way to go . Should I drill my orignal axle to .867 from stock diameter to accept the larger diameter king pins?
Or should I use a stock 36 king pins and put a smaller inside diameter bushing in the 49-54 repo spinldes to accept the smaller 36 chevy king pins? Has anyone tried this? Or is this just a bad idea? (donmck1950@aol.com) DON

Search I-Beam

Do a search in this forum on I-Beam. You should find the name of the company up in Fresno, CA that does nothing but. Very good to talk with and great information. One of the last projects on my trucks suspension.
