yes we have street race here in sweden..if you come here over you see that we don't have so many cops..it's hard to belive but that's it is and if i mean if the cops see some street race they just hang around for one hour and then gone and don't came back..if you get a thicket..is around 150$ and/or they take the driving license for about 3 month and you get it back..the car can they not take, it's yours..
we don't race in the city..just 20 minutes out of town to our "track".. our races are outlaw organized..

Sorry but this is not at all supported by the members here. Sounds like you need to invest some time in organizing more sanctioned events instead of building a car with no where to race it. If there are that many of you that wish to race then get together as a group and talk to your local track to see if some more events or small group race nights can be organized.

Best Wishes

yes we talk about to do that but it's not many street racers who want it..they want to outlaw and don't work at the legal race track..they are around 25 and we who want are just 5 people.. so what to do !? It's more "old school" you know, i'm sorry..

I don't live in your country so I won't judge what you do. Our dragracing here in the U.S.A .started much the same way. It was loosely organized on any unused pavement, mostly old airports.

I'm not sure you understand. Street racing in any form in any country puts innocent bystanders and the public in general in danger. Hotrodders does not condone nor do we permit discussions about illegal activities such as street racing. You might try one of the Mopar sites as they may not care if you're building a car to race on the street. You won't find any help here, so I'm afraid you're on your own.

So rather than help the guy and convince him to stick around where some common sense may eventually rub off, you guys send him packing? State your oppinion about street racing, it is needed, but then answer the question first posted. Good thing Jesus didn't push away the sinners... he choose to welcome them so he could influence them through wisdom and a good example.

Although he mentioned street racing, his actual question was about track times. Guess he can to hang out at the ricer sites now and learn how to be faster and more furiouser... banishment is not the best way to solve the problem, IMO.

I belong to another site that is very into street racing, even posting videos of their Saturday night kills. I have slowly brought folks over to the light side with intelligent debate and wisdom, not my way or the highway bashing. Just my $0.02...

Oh and when Obama decides to outlaw dragracing because he thinks it will sell more electric cars, half the board members will be out on deserted roads going old school again.

Landshark...everyone is welcome to their $0.02 but I think past history on this forum shows that street racing is neither condoned nor is it discussed. Since that is the case then why would we give this guy the information he desires to make his car go faster....on the street. I won't even go into the Jesus or Obama remarks, has no bearing and just plain lame.

I will however comment on your remark about "posting videos of their Saturday night kills". I personally don't need to see videos, I was a street cop for 33 yrs in So. Cal. and unfortunately got to see first hand "the Saturday night kills" due to street racing...literally. That is why I'm totally against street racing in any form. No one "bashed" this guy, we told him our stand on the subject, not going to kiss him on the forehead and give him a huggy bear so his feelings aren't hurt. The man said he understood, apparently you don't...that's my $0.02

327Nut, I completely agree on the no street racing stance. I don't think anyone needs to see the racing videos either. I was just showing the point that a sense of reason can be a guiding light on even a hardcore street racing site.

As for bashing, I was referring to the absolute refusal to help this guy. The "bye bye", go somewhere else attitude.

Many years ago I was a street racer. We would go out to remote county roads, place look outs at both ends and race. We thought we were safe because of the location and the look out cars that would warn us of traffic. We had no bystanders. We didn't realize how stupid it was until a friend rolled his maverick. It was then that they guy at my local speed shop invited me out to the track again. He had been asking me for a while. He knew I street raced but he was never a jerk about it, he just kept encouraging me that track racing was better.

That was 25 years ago and I haven't raced on the street since. I'm just saying telling the street racers to get lost does more harm than good. They will get the info somewhere, why not from those of us that have learned the lessons already?

And as for your time as a police officer, thank you for your service! Police are not paid nor appreciated enough on my book. I feel most police officers do their job due to a strong sense of civic duty. I'm sure you've seen things that would make my stomach turn. The results of street racing are often not bragging rights but rather last rights.
