360 Magnum to A833 OD?

I'm replacing the tired 318 Poly in my 59 Plymouth Suburban with a 360 Magnum. Part of the swap will be an A833 O/D trans. I know I need to use the factory flywheel because the magnum is externally balanced. The question is what bellhousing to use. I thought a 81-87 truck bell would work but I've been told that the pattern on those bells are for a NP435. Another guy suggested a D150 bell from 89-91 but I haven't been able to see one.

Any suggestions?

look here. There is some good info .
http://www.transmissioncenter.net/
I would think the NP 833 would fit a much older bell, like from the late 60s or early seventies. My friend had one is his 65 coronet 413 car.(bad car)
I think the A and LA blocks have the same pattern. Are the B and RB (big block) different ?I dont remember.

You might want to read this too.

Seems a hemi bolt pattern will fit. A lot of those had the NP833 pattern on the other end .Not that you will find one (factory ) but it may help you find a choice in an aftermarket one.

Thanks for the links, I'll give 'em a read.

I adapted an A833 O/D to an early hemi using an old Desoto bell in my 31 Pontiac 5 window coupe. The challenge with this one is finding a bell that the 143 tooth magnum flywheel will fit while still having the correct 5.125 bearing retainer diameter an the A833 bolt pattern.

To be a little more specific, there are applications for 11" clutches which usually means a 143 tooth flywheel (same as the magnum) but I don't know which of them have the 5.125 retainer hole and the A833 pattern.

Nothing good is ever easy. ;-)

Dodge pickup---D-150 --- 1981-1985----mechanical clutch----10-1/2" dia
A833 OD trans

I'm looking for one of these myself---the slant six in my 82 just don't have the wheaties, but I'm leaning to a 318.

v8 and A33 was not too common an option
I have a v8/833od from an 89 D-150, but that is hydraulic and I do not wish to use it. The master for the clutch wants to be in the same spot as my current
electrical bulkhead.

So now the question, will the magnum flywheel fit in the bell meant for a 10.5 clutch and will the starter register properly? What diameter is the flywheel for the D150 setup? I've not got my engine out of the donor pickup and the manual flywheel is in a brown truck somewhere so I don't know what sizes I have to deal with are yet.
