Hey regal, sorry to break the news to you but i read a tech article in hot rod a while back about these 366 big blocks and my advice to you is to get a huge chain and use it for a boat anchor. Even old optimistic hotrod said that there wasnt much to get out of the motor. If i find the column ill tell you.

The engine is pretty much of a dog, you would be better off with a 454, if you want a big block. A bone stock 454 will run circles around a modified 366, plus you would have a real tough time finding any pistons for the 366.

They are correct that it would make a good boat anchor,But save the Steel crank,Rods and main caps.everything else is junk, the crank is steel, will fit 396 and 427 Big blocks, the rods will fit the 396/427 motors, they are a little bit heavier than the stock 396/427 std. rods, and you could convert a 2 bolt 396/427/454 big block to a 4 bolt main if you had to.You are better off with a 454/427/396.Good Luck!
