'37 Ford pickup door internals assembly sequence??

So not to scratch the snot out of my new paint taking the window in and out a few times, in what sequence should the door glass be installed relative to teh door window riser and door latch assembly?

My thoughts:

Install door handle pull latch assembly first so i can latch the door, and also it is easy to see what is going on without a window in place.

second, drop in the window, probably from the inside side of the door, get it oriented, the raise it up and tape it in place in the raised position,

then install window lift mechanism into the door, figure out how to get the window and riser working together, the drop window, and install window channel stuff.

then finally attach window to the lifter mechanism.

Does that sound about right, or should I put the door latch in after the glass is in the door? Any other suggestions?

These are all original parts, no aftermarket latches and window lifters.

Of course I will triple tape all the paint areas and also the metal channel on the bottom of the glass.

Thanks,
Doug

People do it different ways, but first do you have the crank windows or are they power. Not that much different to put in, but I put the window lift in first, after all the channel is in then put the window in, adjust the channel so that it is not too tight or loose. I get that all fitting before paint, but that's a moot point here. after I have the window working then you can put the latch in.

That's how I do it, others might do it different like I said.

They are all the original parts that came out of the truck 20 years ago, so crank lifters. Except for the window glass, that is new

I remember the windows were a pain getting them out, as I recall.

I assume you drop the glass in, back end down, then rotate into position?

Like i said, i want to put it in once, not in and out, in and out trying to make it go in.

Thanks,
Doug

Yes that is how to put it in. if you put new felt channel in it, it might go in harder than it came out.
