37 Ford Trans

Just wondering if there is any adapters out there for hooking say a modern 4 cyl or small v6 to a 1937 ford driveline. (Trans and torque tube rear end). Going for a cheap rat rod cruiser build.

If you want to use a Chevy V6, V8 or inline 6 engines, use something like THIS.

Another way of going about this (added expense but added strength/durability/drivability) is to convert to an open d-shaft and use a manual from the same donor vehicle as the engine comes from. The old three speed floor shifted trannys are not exactly the epitome of durability and IIRC lack syncro low.

rat build

I would go for the 5 speed to match the engine. S 10 5 speeds have the stick farther foreward. I have reworked a Mustang II 4 speed to move the stick foreward. Some Aerostar trans have the castings for different stick locations. going to an open drivelind would require more beef than the rear wishbones. the torque tube is the strong part that transmit the driving force to the chassis
