377 Or 406

i AM WONDERING ABOUT WITCH WAY TO GO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I SHOULD BUILD A 406 6IN. ROD OR A 6IN. ROD 377. I HAVE A 5.7 ROD 383. I AM RUNNING ALCOHOL IT IS A DRAG RACE ONLY CAR. THE CAR IS A 91 CAMARO IT 2740 POUNDS I HAVE 373 GEARS A TCI RACE TRANY THE 383 IS AROUND 525 HORSEPOWER

if you want to build a good rpm engine build the 377, but if more low end torque is wanted the 406 would be great.. your weakest link in making alot of power will be the GM block, if using an aftermark block then build the 406.. the best thing about a 377 is you can run a cast steel crank or cast and yet be alot stronger than factor due to more crank overlap.. so you can build good power..

X2 on the 406 SBC- especially if you're staying w/3.73 rear gears.
