More on 3800SC swaps

Some other L67-into-RWD swaps, including some with photos.

Into an Izusu Amigo. Note the use of the Ford Lightning M112 supercharger to solve the firewall clearance issue:

Into a 31 Ford:

Into a 36 Chevy:

Into a third-gen F-body:

Quote:
Whatever tranny bolted to the 2.8 or the L36 should bolt up to the L67 as well. Stick with an L36 tranny and you won't have to worry about flywheel/clutch/flexplate/torque converter issues.

Exellent information Joe!!!!! This is the reason why I joined this forum, because of the wealth of available knowledge that I have seen here. Thankyou for posting this because I have spent a considerable amount of time on the computer trying to disect if this was a doable swap.I did not want to go out & buy a engine & trans. without this kind of info.
Now the hunt will begin .
I am really looking forward to doing this as I have come over from the Mopar restoration world.I have gotten tired of having all the rules that are associated with doing a "correct" restoration. This is a project that will be a "anything goes" which will include a 4" cut roof, the mandatory slam with a Mustang 2 clip,& the aforementioned supercharged 3800.It will be a truck I can drive everyday from spring to fall, get good fuel mileage with & still have plenty of power when you want it.I want something that I am not be afraid to park in a Wallmart parking lot.
Here's a few pictures of a 53 Merc.M100 that I did about 15 years ago.It has a Volare clip in it,& I cut the roof 4 1/2".Bought a 392 Hemi for it,but never did get it installed. It was a little crude around the edges, but it was the most fun to drive.I quess you would say this was a classic case of "shouldn't of sold that one"
