383 flywheel

Hi guys need some help with a 383 sbc external balanced. i bought a 383 stroker out of a boat with hardly any hours on it and it has a 400 style balancer in front and i bolted it to a neutral balanced 153 tooth flywheel on a t5 tranny. i fired it up and it viabrated pretty bad at 3000 rpm. should i put a balance plate from jegs in it or could i weld or bolt the weight from a 400 flexplate to it. i would rather not pull it. thanks again gents..........
