Post 383 kit?

I just found out my dad has a friend thats got a 383 storker kit (complete) he will sell for only $300. My question is what other parts might i need? I already have a Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold and matching Edelbrock 600 carb, and plan to get a Comp 268H cam.

If the block is a standard 350 block, it is very likely it will need clearancing for the added stroke. Once in a while there is a block that will clear. You can do this yourself with a diegrinder, but it might be better to let a machinist handle it judging from the level of experience displayed from the question.
