383 marine stroker
hello to everyone @hotrodders.com
gerry s here I have 21' runabout with volvo penta stern drive 280 that needs repowering. The boat had a 5.0 305 and I want to go to a 5.7 350. My big question is will a 383 stroker be a better fit. Will it give me performance with economy? Or will it use way more fuel than a350?

Your boat needs the same amount of power to push it through the water if it comes from a 305, or a 383. Up to the top speed of the 305, the fuel use should be pretty similar, maybe even better with the 383. But go faster than that, and the 383 is going to use more gas.
But here is the big question. Will the lower unit handle the additional power of the 383?
