383 replacement cam questions

I broke an intake push rod on 7 and flattened the exhaust cam lobe. So, I guess it's time to do a little shopping, and I looking for some suggestions. Here is what I have

68 GMC short bed wideside weighed at 4400lbs
Dana 44 posi with 4:10
Tubo 400 with 3000-3500 stall
383 with:
flat top pistons with 10.5 compression
Eagle crank
Dart Iron eagle heads with 200cc intake runners, bowels blended
1.6 roller rockers
Dual plane RPM intake
800 cfm carb

It had:
112 centerline, 498 -510 lift (1.6 = 530/542), 228/230 @ .50

Estimated around 450 HP & 450 tq

To be honest this thing has not seen much time over 5000 rpm.
Interested in tire shredding, better hang on acceleration, with a rare excursion to the drag strip.

So I guess I'm looking for some suggestions on replacement parts and any additional upgrades I should do with the engine pulled.

did it have a stall? I'm sure it must have.

IMO you have a huge truck and I would have built the motor a bit differently. I think 180cc heads would have been plenty (especially if you're telling me you barely ever took it over 5k) and much less cam. 274 comps would be as big as I would go, I think you'd be happer with a 264 or 268.

killer,
3000-3500 stall.
Actually this is a small light truck compaired to todays standards. (My Avalanche is almost 2000 lbs heaver) It's really not much bigger than a new S-10. The weight also includes my weight. (It was a drive through scale).

I would call Reed Cams and get one of their Brute Stroker series camshafts. They are designed for stroker engines and give the best performance. Talk to Dennis.

you have a decent stall, for your application and the stall, Id suggest a crower 296/308 232/242 .500/.518 108

but only if you have a stall that will footbrake to at least 2500, if you spin your tires before 2500 on the footbrake, this cam will be to large...

its a crower Hi-draulic Hauler cam grind..
