Hey Stroke...don't know if you're kidding or not but what do you consider a "3/4 cam", havn't heard that term in years.

The old timers in my family tell me it is a relative term used to specify if the cam is 3/4 race cam or full race cam. Apparently there were not that many cams to choose from in the past. A very outdated term.

That 3/4 cam remark was meant to be a funny. You don't want a race cam, so how about 3/4's of one? Now seriously, you want 400 HP, and how long of a warranty? Since it seems you want to do some thrashing on this thing, you best check your warranty's fine print. A 383 can easily produce your 400 target without even trying. Maybe I'm missing something here, but what vehicle is this engine going into, trans, rear end, etc., and tell us about everything else.

I have to agree with all the posts. It is extremely hard to determine what to tell you without any information. I am guessing you purchased a short block? Get the spec sheet on your engine stats, post them and I guarantee you will get some GREAT info.
