Since it seems you want to do some thrashing on this thing, you best check your warranty's fine print. A 383 can easily produce your 400 target without even trying. I have to agree with all the posts. It is extremely hard to determine what to tell you without any information. I am guessing you purchased a short block? Get the spec sheet on your engine stats, post them and I guarantee you will get some GREAT info.
