383 stroker

Building a 383 for my demo car just not sure what cam 2 use I don't want a
Thumpy cam but I want a lot of torque

A basic rule of thumb if you want torque is to use a higher lift, shorter duration cam.
The opposite is true if you want screaming high rpm's...longer duration, and a little less lift.
I realize this is simplifying it, but that's about how it works.

Tell us what parts you have or what parts you are planning to buy/swap/trade for. Auto or stick? What rear gear?

Oh it has dart heads off a buddy's race car eagle 6 inch H beam rods 30 over pistons edelbrock performer intake roller rockers auto tranny 456 gears

Do you have any idea what the chamber size is?
How far down in the bore is the piston at TDC?
What thickness head gasket?
Describe the piston crown or give us the part number.
