383 stroker cherry red header pipes on the driver side just 2 inner pipes
I have a 383 stroker that was running fine then I noticed the 2 inner pipes on header were glowing red. It this cause by timing or tuning issues? Any info will be helpful. Thanks

alum heads 202/160 valves with 200cc runners one piece chrome Molly push rods all arp fastners scat crank wheeler powder metal rods 30lb Bosch injectors stealth ram intake 58 mm throttle chamber lokar throttle cable custome harness from injection technology with vortex management ( custome tuning from CFO tuning) comp cam 502/510 276/282 adv 110 lobe center 10.3 to 1 c/r I bought a crawler with this motor and this I all the info I have on it. |

You need to get a timing light on the engine and see what its doing. Then get a lean rich gauge hooked up to the o2 sensors so you know its running rich and not burning it self up setting there. Also dont idle engine for any length of time. Not good for performance engines.
Whats the engine temp look like. And does it have mech fan or electric. Are the electrics running often? |

I'm gonna look in not sure but it was running fine for a day of riding then started running like crap. Ill get back to you on that

It has dual electric fans they come on and stay on the temp is normal it doesn't run hot

Did you hear any noises before it started to run rough?Are there any noises in the engine now?

I noticed its back firing but other then that no noises

And there's no idle time cause it doesn't like to idle it dies

Does any one know where I can get it dyno tuned somewhere near Houston tx I'm about 45 mins north if Houston

Check the fuel filter i bet its clogged and making the engine run lean and missfire down the pipes will make then hot as hell. Sounds like its lean to me.
If its been sitting for a while i would check the tank and see if its got a bunch of trash in it. Since the hot running makes me think the mechanicals are ok but fire or fuel is off. |
